Tourists from all over the world come here for experiencing the charm of the Rajput era. Its rich cultural heritage can be captured in its wondrous attractions like palaces, forts, monuments, heritage hotels, fairs and festivals and handicrafts.
Jaipur is affectionately dubbed as the ‘Pink City’ as most of its buildings are painted in pink. This city was established in 1727 by Sawai Jai Singh according to the principles of Vastu Shastra (the ancient Hindu text on architecture). It is the capital city of Rajasthan showcasing perfect balance between traditional and modern.
Some of the main attractions of Jaipur are:
The City Palace: A perfect example of the combination of Rajasthani and Mughal architecture, the City Palace is a famous attraction of the city. It is a seven-storied structure consisting of wonderful palaces, courtyards, museums, temples and gardens.

During that time it was used to measure time, altitude, movements of stars and planets and other astronomical events with naked eyes. The monument consists of 20 main fixed instruments. It is truly an architectural wonder of India.
Amber Fort: It is one of the stunning forts of Rajasthan which still holds its old-world charm. Set in the rustic surroundings on a hill, the fort is stunning from inside. Its history dates back to the year 1592. The fort is accessible by a drive or you can also reach it on an elephant’s back, enjoying a royal ride. Each apartment of the fort has its own unique charm. Mirror work and carvings are the striking attractions of the fort.

Jodhpur is a princely city of Rajasthan where the royalty of the bygone era reflects in all its glorious manifestation. It is the second largest city of the state which is endowed with amazing attractions. It is popularly known as the Blue City as majority of its structures around the Mehrangarh Fort are painted in blue. And its sunny weather earned it the title of the Sun City.
The rich cultural heritage of the state make it a must see destination. Its arts, crafts, culture and architecture showcase the perfect combination of Hindu and Mughal influences. Ideally located on the foothills of a sandstone hill, the city was established by Rao Jodha in 1459.
Main attractions of Jodhpur:
Mehrangarh Fort
It is the landmark of the state which is a captivating attraction. Perched on a hill, the fort was built by Rao Jodha in the year 1459. There are wonderful palaces, temples, apartments and galleries inside the fort’s complex. One has to pass through the seven gates to enter the fort. The architectural beauty and exquisite carvings of the fort are truly mesmerizing. The apartments which deserve special mention are Sheesh Mahal, Takat Vilas and Phool Mahal. There is a museum inside the fort which displays royal belongings of the then kings and queens. One must visit the Elephant Howdahs gallery to see stunning howdahs.
Umaid Bhawan palace
Its breathtaking architectural beauty will surely leave you enchanted. This majestic palace was once the largest residence in the world. It was built on the Chittar Hill in 1929 by Maharaja Umed Singh to provide employment to poor people. There are around 347 apartments in this palace which are beautifully decorated. Sprawling over an area of 26 acres, the palace was designed by Henry Lanchester, an Edwardian architect of repute. Some portion of the palace has been transformed into a heritage hotel for tourism purposes. The museum of the palace showcases a variety of royal articles.
Shopping in Jodhpur
A visit to such a colorful and enchanting city is incomplete without going on a shopping spree in its colorful bazaars. You can buy from a variety of handicrafts such as tie and dye fabric, puppets, paintings, embroidered juttis, leather items, wooden crafts, silver jewelry and many more.
Also treat your taste buds with the specialties of Jodhpur such as Mawa Kachori, Pyaaj Kachori and spicy Mirchibada.

Sarongs are worn by both women and men, and can be styled in many different ways. Women tend to wear them as full body wraps or long and short skirts, while men usually tie them around their waists or wear them as shorts. Sarongs can also be used as tablecloths, runners, curtains, scarves and more. They are a fun accessory and make a lovely gift.
Indonesian:
The patterns of Indonesian sarongs are usually the result of a dyeing method called batik. The batik artist places wax paper on the portions of fabric that they do not want to be dyed. Batik is a national art form in Indonesia, most commonly practiced in Java and Bali. Given the hot, tropical climate of Indonesia it is no wonder that both men and women enjoy the light fabric that’s used to make sarongs. The patterns of men’s sarongs however, are usually a checkerboard design.
Hawaiian:
Hawaiian sarongs are a great way to glam up an otherwise plain swimsuit. They are also a great way to cover up otherwise unwanted cellulite and fat! They are easy to put on and can be worn in so many different ways. The bright colours and flower prints of Hawaiian sarongs specifically, can add an exotic flair to your look.
Wedding:
For beach weddings, a sarong wedding dress is a nice, comfortable option. It flows nicely in the breeze of the ocean and is a light material to keep you cool. Best of all, brides won’t mind if it gets a bit sandy or wet at the bottom. Most sarong wedding dresses are made of silk and can double as honeymoon lingerie!
For Men:
Turns out that men love to wear sarongs as well. And while they’ll try a wide variety of colours, the darker, masculine ones, are more appealing to them. These include forest green, deep red, and charcoal. Gold accented patterns are also quite popular. They make wonderful gifts and are great to wear by the pool or beach, as a scarf, sarong, or around the shoulders.
Sarongs are extremely easy to wear and very versatile. Different cultures and geographical regions have their own styles and print-making techniques, which makes them a fabulously fashionable item to pick up when on holiday. They make great throws, tablecloths, scarves, bags, and more. A simple accessory that can add a colourful or ethnic touch to your look. The best part is that they never go out of style.
Aspiga was set up in 2005 to supply the best of hand made beachware from local manufacturers in Kenya. Products include hand made sandals and belts, beachwear (African sandals, sarongs and dresses), swimwear and bags. All items are of the highest quality. http:/www.aspiga.com/women/accessories/kikoys//

There is a widespread misconception that occasion pictures is a soft option, something that can be carried out portion-time to earn some effortless further dollars on the facet. The truth, of course, is very various and there is a great deal a lot more to this sector than some may well picture, each in terms of the preparation that is required to supply a quality result frequently beneath considerable time strain and also the expense necessary, the two in time and cash. Walk blind into this location at any degree and you danger not only your own long term in the function company but also that of other photographers, who may possibly lose jobs on the back of occasion organisers losing faith in the end solution.
The objective of this piece is not to discourage any photographer from searching at the prospective of occasion protection but to give them an honest manual as to what is needed to make a good results of celebration photography. There are a number of diverse amounts at which you can operate and the needs are diverse for every single of them, but it is achievable to transfer into occasion images in a pretty reduced essential way and then construct up your involvement if items are functioning out nicely. This in turn guarantees that it’s not needed to make a full commitment from day 1 if you want to acquire issues far more little by little.
There are three issues that you can do to put together oneself for occasions;
You could join a respected organisation these kinds of as the Celebration Photographer Culture
You could get coaching from expert celebration photographers
Examine this write-up
What you will need
The first issue that any occasion photographer really should have in spot just before walking out of their front door is insurance coverage. It’s vital – and legally necessary – to protect oneself and your buyers, and to make sure that you don’t become a victim of the present litigious culture you will need to speak to an insurance expert about the likes of Public Liability Insurance coverage, tools include and any other essentials.
The moment factor you will need to assume about early on is a web site to allow you to promote photographs right after the celebration. This is by no signifies your only route to industry but it’s a vital way to maximise your gross sales and to give your organization visibility. However, in my view the very best way to market is nevertheless to supply prints on the location, because this will be the time when folks are in the mood to purchase a print and they will current a reasonably effortless sell. It’s also quite cleanse and economical, with gross sales getting dealt with on the area and practically nothing to adhere to up, and the dollars you can consider on the night time is excellent for money circulation!
This will take you into the realm of modest, transportable dye-sub printers of course and there are various to pick from which is one thing that I covered when I wrote an guide for Picture Pro in August 2009. In short you require to make a purchasing choice based mostly on pace, reliability and excess weight – don’t just purchase a item based mostly on its value tag – and it’s value asking other experts which package they individually use and then basing a purchasing selection on which gear sounds greatest suited to your person demands. I will write a further article on this soon as there are some really wonderful new models that have appeared given that then these kinds of as the DNP DS40 and DNP DS80.
1 of your key factors in terms of what kit you might demand will be the region of celebration images that you select to go into. Normally there are two avenues you can examine: sociable gatherings and sporting events, with some photographers, this kind of as myself, operating throughout both regions. Sporting activities can be split straight down nevertheless more into outdoor and indoor areas, while interpersonal covers any function that demands a studio set up.
Those looking to operate in sociable celebration photography will normally have various digital camera factors, and they advantage from the reality that they don’t will need to opt for some thing which is top rated of the range. If you’re on a regular basis masking black tie activities, for instance, then you really should be seeking to preserve file dimensions straight down to about 1.5MB, and for this a great high quality 6 megapixel photographic camera will deliver what is needed to permit printing on-site of 12×8ins images and larger dimensions from internet gross sales. You can often buy a far more potent digital camera of program and shoot at reduce than optimum resolution, but this may not be your most price-successful resolution.
For sporting occasions you require to search at far more specialised gear and here the most vital point you will require to commit in will be great good quality, quick lenses. The normal starting stage is going to be one thing like a 70-200mm f/2.8 to permit you to get the desired shutter rates of speed but also to have the extensive apertures accessible to set the background out of concentrate. Other items to seem at are digicam hoods (rain jackets) to safeguard the digital camera from poor climate.
Quite a few novices will try to use a burst of photos to capture the peak of the action but in fact this means you are far more probably to miss the shot that sells. It is essential to comprehend the sport you are protecting and be ready to predict when and exactly where to consider the shot. When you have mastered this you can commence to comprehend when a burst of pictures may possibly be required, this kind of as capturing a rider falling from their horse – yes they like individuals photos as nicely! Most DSLRs these days occur with a good fps charge so this is a perform you will possibly have to hand.
On-Web site
Operating on area you encounter what may possibly be the largest cost of all: the require to have accommodation for your self and your staff plus your printers and strength to run every thing. Primarily the cover concern can be solved in 1 of 3 techniques; a marquee, a trailer suit or a van match. The problem with a marquee is that all the tools has to be arranged up each time whereas as with the van or trailer it is a straightforward matter of connecting to the strength and switching on.
The power issue can be tackled with batteries but this is not easy and the favored alternative is a generator. Care needs to taken to choose a single that has a steady voltage (there have been a range of situations in which printers do not purpose properly when utilized with turbines) which commonly signifies seeking for a expression like ‘pure sine wave’ or ‘inverter technology’. There is a even more complication that some celebration hosts will not let you on website with petrol turbines, so a good selection is to appear for an LPG transformed generator, with the generator of selection currently being a Honda EU20i.
Transferring indoors as a sports photographer you nevertheless require all those rapidly lenses but now the reduced light stages appear into impact and it is here that quite a few of the reduced stop cameras truly battle. Envision shooting an indoor equestrian celebration in November – you have combined lights and actually will need to be ready to achieve shutter rates of speed of one/640sec or more rapidly. You are now looking at possessing to up your ISO ranges to 5000 or possibly greater, and this is a specialised region if you are nonetheless seeking for excellent, usable benefits. For me this meant the buy of a Nikon D700; a large funding for positive, but it’s crucial to purchase when and to obtain correct, and I knew that was what I necessary. The cost doesn’t cease there, and the use of quite fast f/1.4 and f/1.eight lenses can aid you not just to get an appearance but also to concentrate in reduced gentle. Using a flashgun with many indoor events these kinds of as equestrian is liable to see you fixed upon by a group of pony club mums – greatest averted at all expenses.
Illumination
If you’re doing work in the sociable place you will probably require to make investments in reputable lighting – you will never ever have two setups that are the identical and will have to discover to function inside the space accessible. Remember that what you are supplying is a cellular studio setup, so you will have to have backgrounds and stands. As you are using electrical equipment you will also require to make certain that you have this PAT examined (look at testing.information/authorized.htm for the authorized specifications).
A very good high quality gentle meter will assist you to get the gentle levels appropriate, but a single dilemma you may not assume is the tendency for the lights to reflect again from partitions and to probably produce colour casts. In my viewpoint it is important to usually carry out a customized white balance, and this is the second issue I do after adjusting the lights. Personally I use the Lastolite ezybalance and it requires 30 seconds to make sure an additional facet of supplying a quality appearance to the client has been coated. A fast check shot at this stage ought to give you a clear impression at the printer and you are prepared to consider on your initial consumer.
Two critical problems for the interpersonal function photographer to think about are how to sound the lights and also how to physically get the picture recordsdata from the digital camera around to the printer generating prints for sale. Each locations appear with an choice to use cables, both to hyperlink the tools or to tether the digicam, but in a active predicament you are then introducing trip hazards and it will also limit in which you can truly transfer with the digital camera. I do consider cables with me on a task but they are stored in the box just in case of emergencies – as an celebration photographer you do have to have to be covered for every single eventuality due to the fact as the occasion photographers’ mantra goes ‘the only picture you can’t promote is the a single you don’t take’.
In terms of studio flashes, an option way to fire them is through an infra-purple mild set off, but these can be temperamental and you do will need to be in a position to react to a scenario if issues go improper. For instance, at one particular Christmas function I encountered a novelty toy reindeer which was spinning all around and bucking away with a huge purple flashing nose, and this was continually setting off the studio flash! Some Gaffa tape to cowl the offending element did the trick but it gave me a handful of hairy moments. I now use a wi-fi program and it’s proved extremely trustworthy and protected in operation.
Wireless Transfer
In phrases of sending files again to base, you could swap cards on the digicam and pass them again to the product sales stage but I do wonder what would occur if you took your digicam to be repaired below warranty due to the fact the card pins have been bent, and then had to explain that it experienced just acquired some gentle use i.e. 100 card swaps a night for a hundred nights in the year. There are now viable options as we enter the era of dependable and economical Wi-Fi such as SD memory playing cards established up to be Wi-Fi enabled to deliver the entry degree cost of this know-how lower to really manageable amounts.More info of photo booth hire

Here are some last minute Halloween party ideas for a green Halloween for this weekend’s monster bashes. I also thought I would share some Halloween décor ideas as well.
You don’t always have to stick to orange as a theme for Halloween but of course, this is always a fun way to get to wear and eat the color orange. But for now, let’s look at Halloween party ideas involving another color such as green and create a menu and decorations for a green Halloween.
For a Green Goblin party, you can start your menu off with green theme cocktails and then serve small bites instead of a formal sit-down dinner. Rename a mint julep the Green Gremlin and also offer cucumber martinis, mint ice tea or lime flavored soda water and add a drop or two of green food color for fun. Another fun idea is to offer plain water with cucumber, mint and rosemary and color that green as well and call it Frankenstein’s Spa water.
For munchies, here are some green Halloween ideas that are easy-to-make and can be served either as small bites or on small plates:
1. Guacamole with green tortilla chips
2. Hallowed out cucumbers with green pepper humus
3. Endive leaves stuffed with dill cream cheese
4. Green chili mushroom poppers
5. Shot Glasses with asparagus soup
6. Green goddess salad
7. Mini spinach cupcakes
8. Penne with pesto sauce
9. Lamb kabobs with green peppers and mint jelly
Of course, Halloween party ideas featuring a Green Goblin theme can’t be complete without dessert. Why not serve mint brownies or mint ice cream sandwiches? For a not so sweet finish, you can also pick up green tea ice cream or green tea mochi and garnish them with green grapes and kiwi.
For your Green Goblin Halloween décor, pick up some fun green fabric and use it as an overlay. You don’t have to sew the edges, just fold them under or pick up a pair of pinking shears to finish the edges.
To keep with a green Halloween theme, as a table centerpiece, here are a few quick and easy ideas. Just a simple large bowl or platter of green apples interspersed with a contrasting flower is fun. Or various heights of tall glass cylinders filled with green apples will work too.
Take a green pillar candle and surround it with a wreath of fresh white hydrangeas, or if you can’t find a green pillar candle, use a white one and green hydrangeas instead.
Other fun green Halloween décor includes taking an old white sheet, dye it green and then create little ghosts that you can hang from your ceiling or outdoors from a tree. Just take the pieces of fabric from the old sheet, stuff a portion on the top to create the head and tie it off with raffia or plain string also dyed green. Then glue black velvet pieces for the eyes and mouth to create the face and finish them by using fishing string to hang your little ghosts.
I hope you found these Halloween party ideas and Halloween décor ideas for a green Halloween easy and fun to do. Until next time, remember the Budget Bash mantra: make it simple, delicious, stylish, fun & economical to all!

Every time I have the same dilemma – what to wrap my presents in that is both environmentally-friendly AND attractive?
I do not like seeing those piles of torn wrapping paper heaped on the floor after present-opening time. These papers were barely used and are now ready for the trash, and the landfill. One option is recycling them – but many of these speciality papers are hard to categorize, with metallic dyes added. Are they actually recyclable? And would you want them in your compost bin if they are toxic? What to do?
Here are some options I have tried and their mixed results:
Buy wrapping paper made specifically from recycled content. You can feel better buying it, and can probably recycle or compost it when you are done. Buying wrapping papers from charity groups involved in saving rainforests will salve your conscience and is a nice gesture.
Pick up inexpensive rolls of leftover wrapping paper from Goodwill or the Salvation Army. When I stopped by Goodwill today, I saw bins full of 1/2 and 1/4 rolls for less than a dollar each.
Save used wrapping paper this Memorial Day, birthday, anniversary, wedding, graduation… name it and reuse it all next year. I did this through-out my twenties. Now I do not really care to store used paper all year, but it worked fine for me at the time. The downside: your gifts do not look very pristine all wrapped up, sitting under the tree, with the professionally-wrapped stuff from everyone else. My parents understood my recycling convictions, but still, my gifts looked ‘cheaper’ than the others. If you can get your whole family to save and reuse together, this option should work for you. Make sure everyone opens their gifts carefully – no frantic ripping allowed!
Make your own gift wrap from butcher paper, reused brown paper bags, newspaper and the funny pages. These can look GREAT! Try some raffia twine bows with the butcher paper and brown bags, for a pleasant, simple, rustic look. Or get the family together to create your own designs drawn on the butcher paper – use crayons, markers or mixed media. Make a stencil from a potato for the brown paper bags. You do not need bows, and these hand-made offerings are like another gift all by themselves. Best of all, the paper, bags, and newsprint can all be recycled or composted.
Buy a bundle of pretty gift bags from your local dollar store, and reuse them each year. Tie the handles together with some ribbon so gift-getters have something to “unwrap”. These bags come in all designs and look very nice under the tree. They are also a boon for wrapping odd-shaped gifts.
Along the same lines, you can pick up a bunch of used but pretty baskets from your local Goodwill or thrift store. Put the gifts in the baskets and presto! Nothing to chuck. Everyone can use a basket or two in their lives.
Make lovely, reusable gift sacks from cloth material you have lying around. Fold material in half and sew up one bottom and the other side. Leave the top open, insert gift, and tie shut with a ribbon. These sacks can be as simple or extravagant as your talents/interest allows.
Give gift certificates this year. Place the certificates in a nice envelope, clip with hole puncher, add a bit of ribbon and dangle from the tree. The nice thing about this: there is virtually no wrapping to deal with (recycle or reuse that envelope), and the recipient gets a gift they will actually enjoy, since they get to pick it out.

Abhijeet Khanna Launches ‘Risa’ Lable
Debut at WILLS LIFESTYLE INDIA FASHION WEEK and LONDON FASHION WEEK
If the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week is the ultimate Indian ramp to walk down, NIFT New Delhi alumnus Abhijeet Khanna is treading the road early. He started his career working as design assistant to Manish Arora. Picking up invaluable experience over four years, this talented designer who won the gold medal from his batch and the award for the Best Design Collection when he graduated has also marked his presence on the international ramp. He represented Indian Contemporary Design at Bijenkorf in 2003, a prestigious store in Amsterdam where he showcased his collection and won lots of accolades.
The label, RISA is promoted by Radhika and Amit Rastogi, also the promoters of Ana Mika, the near-eponymous label of Anamika Khanna. They spotted the immense talent of this young man and created the label, RISA, launched in December 2006. They were taken in by its fresh, young-at-heart appeal. Abhijeet’s first collection under this label, Spring Summer 2008, had been selected by an esteemed jury at London Fashion Week and will showcase there in September 2007. In a unique debut double, RISA has also been selected for a catwalk show at Delhi’s Fashion Week, September 2007.
Abhijeet aptly describes the label as fashion forward. The designs are eclectic and are a synthesis of the best of the east and the west. It reflects strong Indian influences in terms of techniques like hand embroidery and block prints even as it exudes global appeal with its silhouettes and palette.
Abhijeet is being mentored by a team in London. The team comprises the individuals who taught John Galliano, Alexander Mc Queen and Hussein Chalayan.
He brings to Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week the wilderness of the greens with wild flora. Inspired by the Far East, it is a bouquet of flowers blooming in an oriental forest. The argyle motif is predominant in the collection just as roses bring in colour and the promise of a fragrant day. For technique, he looks at tie and dye. The end result is a collection where the silhouette is feminine and takes you back to the early 1960s with knee-length skirts. The swatches are often silk flattered with Indian techniques of hand embroidery and block printing. The palette extends from reds to greens and pastel pinks, purple and yellow.
As Abhijeet says, the woman he designs for has soft, flowing hair that cascades down or is tied loose. She smells of spices and roses and tulips. Hers is an eternal youth, and her adolescence never vanishes, a woman whom age forgets. “She’s fair in the sun, glows in the dark, she loves summer, winter and a dance in the monsoons,” says Abhijeet.
